Carreras Malta concert success
World renowned opera singer, tenor Jose Carreras gave a rousing performance at Palace Square on Friday evening which thrilled the 3000 people present. The man who is mostly known for singing live at the world cup along with Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo was brought over to Malta by NnG Promotions who will feature Bryan Adams later this month. Carreras was accompanied by local mezzo soprano, Lydia Caruana with whom he sang a couple of duets and eight encores. The organisation was near perfect and many people were pleasantly surprised to find that Palace Square was completely cleared of the massive stage, rigging, speakers, chairs and mobile toilets by 11.00 a.m. on Saturday morning. |
